Bridge Skill Gaps and Drive Innovation

with Engineers from Around the World

Japan faces a rising demand for skilled IT professionals that the domestic talent pool alone cannot meet. Around the world, there is a growing pool of highly trained engineers eager to work abroad, bringing technical expertise, global perspectives, and fresh ideas.

Strong Global Talent Pipeline - Skilled engineers from multiple overseas countries are ready to bring their talents to Japanese companies.

Immediate opportunities - Many of these professionals are actively seeking overseas roles.

Diverse Perspectives - International engineers bring experiences that enhance problem-solving and innovation.

By hiring global talent - and providing language and cultural support - companies can:

  • Close critical skill gaps and accelerate digital transformation

  • Drive innovation with fresh, global perspectives

  • Enhance competitiveness in an increasingly international market

Among these global options, we have developed relationships on the ground in India and Bangladesh and have connected with a strong candidate resource pool to connect highly skilled, motivated engineers with companies here in Japan.

INDIA

India produces one of the largest group of engineering and ICT graduates in the world, with roughly 1.5 million new graduates entering the workforce annually*. These graduates come from strong programs in ICT, mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering, and benefit from skill-development initiatives that have steadily increased the employability rate from 34% in 2013 to nearly 55% in 2024**.

Japanese employers are increasingly tapping into this pool, attracted by professionals who not only bring strong technical skills but also a readiness to contribute to global projects. India’s ICT talent is particularly aligned with Japan’s needs in software, digital transformation, and emerging technologies.

Beyond career opportunities, Indian professionals are drawn to Japan’s high quality of life, vibrant cities, and unique cultural experiences. Government programs, including the Japan–India Skilled Worker initiative and the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) framework, are creating structured pathways to support language training and smooth integration into Japanese workplaces***.

BANGLADESH

Bangladesh is steadily building a strong pipeline of engineers, with particular strengths in electrical, civil, and mechanical fields, alongside a growing number of computer and ICT graduates. While not quite as large as India, this foundation comes from the country’s wide network of over 400 polytechnic and technical institutes enrolling around 250,000 students, supported by an expanding system of universities.

At the diploma level, electrical engineering represents the largest group of graduates, followed by civil and then computer—skills that connect naturally with Japan’s needs in manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, and advanced equipment.

Interest in Japan is purposeful and aspirational: Bangladeshi candidates are drawn to Japan’s safe living environment, precision-focused engineering culture, and clear career pathways. The two governments have already laid the groundwork, signing a framework in 2019 (SSW) to enable skilled migration, and in May 2025 Japan announced plans to welcome around 100,000 Bangladeshi workers over five years, backed by language and pre-departure training at home.*
